Freeview HD Launch
Freeview HD Launch – HUMAX HD-FOX T2 FREEVIEW HD BOX
So Freeview HD has been up and running since December 2009. Only problem being there has been no reciever to view it with. Humax have now launched the Fox T2 HD Freeview reciever equipped with the new DVB-T2 tuner to allow high definition viewing.
So what’s so good about it? Well it features an 8 day programme guide, auto-updates for new channels, supports digital audio, and has a HDMI slot as well as 2 SCART sockets and digital output slot. As well as this there is a USB port which allows you to connect external storage (i.e. portable hard drive or USB stick) to view content such as xVid, MP3 and JPEGs and an Ethernet port to connect to a router to allow viewing of catch up TV content such as BBC iPlayer.
The launch of Freeview HD is in time for FIFA World Cup 2010. By Kick off on 11th June almost 50% of the UK will be able to get Freeview HD and 98.5% by the end of digital switchover in 2012. If you’re unsure if Freeview HD is available currently in your area, simply text your postcode followed by your house number to 80560 or use the coverage check on the Freeview website.
